>A fun bulletin board makeover
>I have been feeling overwhelmed this past week – I was finally able to get in my classroom to begin set-up, and I think I did more damage than good! I’ll be back in on Monday to hopefully get it a little more organized…
I also have been going a little crazy with decorating lately…and I don’t even know where to start blogging about it! So I decided to just do a fun little project to start…
I bought this little piece of work at 2nd Avenue (a local thrift store) for $1.90.
Just what you want hanging in your house, right? 😉 Here’s a closer view…
SO, I knew that little birdie had to go…and I painted it black
Ahh…much better already. Since the cork board wasn’t cutting it, I decided to cover it with some pretty scrapbooking paper I had in my stock. Problem was, I cut it too small, and I had some cork board showing through. No fear, I have some ribbon that will add a pop of color and fix up those holes (nobody ever said I was a perfectionist!)
I struggled with what to do with the top of this for a little while…I had a few different ideas, but I decided to monogram it. We have no other monograms in the house, so I thought it would be fun to try one…
Painted in the stencil with an antique white paint, and here she is!
I even stuck a little note on it for my husband to see when he got home 🙂 It’s hanging right near our front door, so I want to use it as a place to hang those “reminders” that we can’t leave home without!
Not bad for a $1.90 piece – and I didn’t pay anything extra because everything else was leftover from other projects! 🙂
Check out the parties I’m linking up to on the side of my page, and as always, let me know what you think! You guys are the BEST! 🙂
>Great job! It turned out great and cheap too!! You can't beat that. Have a great day. Bonnie 🙂

>So cute! I love the monogram. I think it's great when people re-purpose items that seem so so so beyond any help (like that awful pastel bird!). Those are my favorite makeovers because they're the ones that are least expected. 🙂
