>Monogrammed Frame

>I am in a wedding this summer, so this is the beginning of “shower/bachelorette/wedding” season…and I’m loving it!  I went to my girlfriend’s surprise bridal shower on Satuday, and it was so fun!  She was one of my bridesmaids in my wedding, and I’m honored to be in hers.

Her fiancรฉe and her just bought a house together, and their colors are so pretty and fresh: light teal/turquoise paired with browns.  I figured I’d make her a fun personalized gift to go along with her new house for her shower:

I started with this thrift store frame:

A Jesus paint-by-number.  I don’t know where you would even buy something like that.  Now, I’m a Christian, and I love Jesus, but I do not think that He was offended that I threw his painting in the trash.  This frame was half priced that day too…so I guess no one else wanted it either ๐Ÿ˜‰

I took the picture out and the glass was DISGUSTING!  Seriously…so gross.  BUT it was able to be cleaned with some good old-fashioned elbow-grease (btw…I hate that saying)

I got these letters at Michaels (the small letters and the initials in their first names, and the big F is for their last name).  I almost reversed the small letters…but then realized I would be advertising fried chicken, and I didn’t think they’d want that hanging in their living room ๐Ÿ˜‰

After this, I got really bad about taking pictures, but it’s not hard to follow along.

  1. Paint the frame and letters the same color.
  2. Put some cute fabric in the frame (scrapbook paper would work too)
  3. Hot glue the letters directly onto the glass
Here’s the finished product:

I think it turned out really cute, and it was really thrifty, so I could buy her things from her registry too!  You know, like towels and place mats.  The boring essentials.

Do you have any fun DIY wedding shower ideas?  I am having a lot of fun making things for her! ๐Ÿ™‚  I’d love to hear some suggestions for future gifts! ๐Ÿ™‚
