>Re-upholstered chair…and a winner!

>Happy Saturday, ladies! I love having projects to share with all of you! By the way, HELLO to all of my new and lovely followers!! I’m so excited to have you on my little blog! 🙂

So, I’m sure you remember my desk I painted & stenciled, right? WELL, a desk NEEDS a CHAIR! I just didn’t have one when I posted about my desk! So, when I saw this chair for $6.90 at the thrift store this week, it was love at first sight:

Hello beautiful! I love the crisp and clean lines in this chair…and it was in GREAT condition! The “wood” did have nicks and bumps in it that you might not be able to see in that picture…but I knew I was going to paint it and I really didn’t care about minor imperfections. But that “upholstery” had to go! So, I started by unscrewing the seat off of the chair…

and then primed the chair…and while that was drying, I ripped the gross plastic-y material off of the seat:
Now, this is my second re-upholstery project ever. Remember my first one…my black & white bench? I was so pleasantly surprised with how cheap a staple gun was, and how EASY it was for these simple re-upholstery projects! Now, don’t get me close to a wing-back chair…that’s what slipcovers are for 🙂 BUT, these projects are so easy you’ll wonder why you didn’t do it years ago. Take my word for it 🙂

So, I got this fabric at JoAnns (50% off their home decor fabrics!) for $3.75 (I didn’t get a whole yard either…3/4 is more than enough). I simply pulled it tight around all of the corners, stapled, and then put the sides into place.
SO simple! I also painted my chair with the same very light gray that I painted my desk…screwed the seat back on…
And she’s done! She’s so pretty! 🙂 Now she can live in her new home…happily with my pretty desk!

I LOVE my little girly space!! It makes me so happy!

While you’re here…the winner of the $10 credit to my Etsy shop was randomly picked by random.org…

#14…Megan!! I promise it was random…and it just so happens Megan’s one of my fun bloggy friends who is also a teacher with a cute dog 🙂 Megan…leave me a comment with your e-mail and I’ll be in touch with you about how to get the $10 credit! 🙂

Speaking of my “cute dog”…just wanted to let you know what he does when he’s desperate for attention because I’m on the computer…

Yes, that’s my computer behind him. He jumps from our chair to the desk…and puts himself right in the middle of me and my keyboard. Little bugger.

Don’t forget…the “20 Below Thursday” party ends tonight! Show me all of your thrifty crafts & finds for under $20! 🙂

It's great fabric…and you can't beat the price…especially if you have a coupon. You did an awesome job and I love how it looks with the desk. I linked over from Domestically Speaking.
