>A quick fix that makes a big difference

>As a lot of you know, I am on an extremely limited budget. I am on a teacher’s salary, and my husband is working part-time while he’s searching for a full-time position as a professor (he graduated last month). We rent a 1-bedroom apartment, and most of our furniture has been handed down to us. We are super grateful for this, please don’t read into it otherwise! These are just the facts πŸ™‚

We got this small TV stand from Target when we were first married a few years ago. It’s totally functional, just not very pretty. It was really bothering me the other day…and I felt it “cluttered up” our family room.

So, I had a little idea. I measured the doors, searched through my fabric “stash”, and cut the fabric to size:

Of course, it’s damask πŸ™‚ My favorite!

Then, I applied mod-podge directly onto the glass on the inside of the glass doors, working in sections. I made sure to smooth out any bubbles along the way, but there were barely any.
I simply let it dry…and here it is!

It looks so much cleaner…and cuter! Let’s do a little before & after…

Sometimes it’s those little things that make a big difference πŸ™‚

*UPDATE*: Thank you to you sweet ladies who said it would look better painted. You’re COMPLETELY RIGHT…however…I do not think we want to keep this piece for more than a year…it’s on it’s way out. We would like something totally structurally different once we get the funds πŸ™‚ So…that’s my way to justify my laziness πŸ˜‰

    >Ah, such a great fix! Don't you just feel calmer when you walk into the room now? Sometimes, I see clutter and I get jittery. It's true. So sad.

  12. Tara says:

    >LOOKS FABULOUS. Since you dont want to take the time to paint it. Why not take some solid fabric and just Modge Podge it onto the tv stand. Have a FABULOUS weekend. Big Hugs From Texas, Tara
