>Clipboard Christmas Presents

>As most of you know, I teach Kindergarten Autism Support. I have some amazing co-workers, and we always get eachother small things for Christmas every year. Instead of another candle or basket of home-made cookies (which are GREAT gifts…I’ve just given them too many times now!) I personalized some of those clipboards I made for the craft fair:

Depending on the design, I either wrote out their names or put their initials on with scrapbook letters.

Some of you asked how I made them go around the top of the clipboard seamlessly, and it’s really simple! I actually took some pieces of scrap paper, cut and taped them to make a template that would fit perfectly onto the clipboards:

Then, I cut out 2 different papers using the template, and I put a light layer of mod-podge onto the clipboard. If you put on a thicker layer (like I did too many times) it WILL bubble, and it will not look cute!

I usually let it dry a few hours (overnight is the best) and then I put on another light layer of mod-podge on top. Then, I use circle cutters, ribbon & scrapbook letters to personalize it!

They were a big hit, and the teachers will definitely use them! Consider making them for end-of-year gifts…they will be much appreciated!

  1. >I love these! I made a few this year and they turned out terrible. I think the trick is the mod-podge. I tried two different spray adhesives and when they dried the paper peeled right off. The stickiness did NOT come off my hands for days! Next time Mod-podge!
