>Table Centerpiece

>

So remember when we refinished our kitchen table? Even though no one asked about the centerpiece, I thought I’d share how I made it anyway 🙂

First, I painted that tray that everything is sitting on. This is what it looked like originally…

Got it at a yardsale for $0.50. As soon as I got it home, I put many layers of cream paint (leftover from another project) on that *beautiful* Christmas tray. Didn’t feel bad about it for a second.

Then, I took a fabric remnant from JoAnns, and hot glued it onto the base. (Sorry, I didn’t take picture of this)

I found these at a local thrift store on 1/2 price day:

and got the two of them for $3.00. They were on opposite sides of the store, but I put them together and could see them being instand BFFs (once their awful paint jobs were covered up)

I painted them, and put some fun candles from Hobby Lobby on top (also 50% off…so $6.99 for both)

I had that big vase from when we got married (it’s from Target), and I like to move it around the house and change up what’s inside. This time, I used raffia balls from the Dollar Store, and just spraypainted some black.

Then, those coasters I made are sitting there right now…I’m kinda thinking they’re going to stay at my house instead of going to someone else as a gift 🙂 I can always make others, right?

Last, I bought the table runner from Overstock. It was the only thing here that we bought directly and didn’t change. But I really wanted something pretty for our new table. It was $16.

Total cost:

Tray: 50 cents

Vase: present

Paint: leftover from other projects

Raffia balls: $2.00

Candles: $6.99

Candleholders: $3.00

Remnant fabric: $1.32 (with LOTS leftover)

Coasters: $1.40

Runner: $16

Total cost: $31.21

Let me know what you think! I think it looks pretty on our new table:
