>Easy Inexpensive Gift Idea

>

So, I’m already prepping for CHRISTMAS! It always seems to creep up on me, and I have all of these grand visions for gifts I will give other people, and I run out of time! So this year, I am trying to be proactive and make small gifts for people starting now.
I bought these coasters at the local thrift store for $1.40. They are nice and heavy, but the trains aren’t my style
I painted them with a coat of some leftover paint from the nightstand project … I have already used that paint for about 5 other small projects…it’s the never-ending paint can!!

I then cut out some circles of black scrapbook paper, and some smaller circles of black and white scrapbook paper that I had around the house…

and I “mod-podged” them onto the coasters.

Now, here’s the finished product!

I love how these turned out! I am secretly hoping to find more coasters to make over before Christmas so I can keep these for me…and make new ones for someone else šŸ˜‰

Total cost was only $1.40 for the coasters…I already had everything else on hand!

    >These are nice!! I'm sure you'll find more coasters, but just in case you don't, try using ceramic floor tiles and add some cork on the bottom. I've got some just waiting to be put together. If I could just get all of my Halloween projects done. haa~ The Speckled Dog

    >These are SO cute! I tried to do something with tiles and coasters last year that totally bombed. I wish I had seen this! My only question is do you have any issues with the paper warping if the glass on it has condensation? Or are these more for decoration and not really used?
